Evaluation.

In this assignment we had to create our very own BBC 2 ident. We worked in groups of 4 or 5 and had to make our very own number 2 and film it in 6 weeks. We all chose which role we wanted to take part in out of prop designer, set designer, editor, lighting and filming, but to make our process a lot faster we all stuck together and helped with each others role. In the producing of the BBC 2 ident we used a flip camera, still life table, studio lighting, tripod, backdrop stand, Various coloured materials and the 2's. We worked really well as a team as we never argued and agreed on pretty much everything. We had to use a flip camera for the videoing but if we wanted to do a stop motion picture we could use our camera's.

Firstly we discussed various ideas for the ident but we finally came up with our final idea the seasons in the first week, and we all agreed it would be the best idea, me and Dani went out to get some props including cotton wool and leaves, Jodie was busy cutting out the 2's from the foam board, Lydia was busy taking pictures documenting all of our work so we could prove what we had been doing and finally Coral was busy decorating bits and pieces for the backdrop.

We felt that if we all worked on one thing at a time it would get done quicker and we would be filming before we knew it but because we had 4 different 2's to make and decorate and also 4 different backdrops to decorate it took 4 of the 6 weeks to complete just the 4 different 2's but in those 4 weeks 3 of the girls managed to video one of the 2's which was the winter 2. In the fifth week we planned on doing the other videoing but unfortunately the studio had already been booked out so we had to leave it to the 6th week to video. Also because we did layers on the 2's it took ages to dry before we did another layer which took most of the time, especially the Autumn and Summer 2. It took all day to finish the filming and editing of the other ident video's so we couldn't do any retakes.

We took several shots of each 2 zooming in and out on each detail making it more easy on the eyes, and in editing we added different sound effects to each season making it more obviously to what the season is, I feel it worked well except for the different landscape and portrait views on the scene which made it hard to edit and mesh together but as we didn't have time to retake we had to stick with what was produced.

I am really happy with how everything went because it went well and I feel the videos have really nice lighting and the sets were how we wanted them to look and we made each season stand out to how we wanted it to making it obvious. To improve on what we had already done I think we should have probably made better time in making the 2's and trying to get everything decorated in the 3 weeks, obviously we had some obstacles which wasn't our fault but we probably should have booked the studio sooner and maybe took the 2's home to finish and then we would have made better time, as a group I feel we worked really well together as there was no arguing and we all got on and helped each other with each role, I would say we probably did sit around doing nothing and wasted time in some areas but we can improve on that next time and keep going with the work until its ended to get the best possible outcome at the end.
